In recent years, Zhangjiachuan County in Gansu Province has been actively exploring the path of agricultural scientific and technological innovation. It has made remarkable achievements in vigorously developing the industrial planting project of morel mushrooms at the Edible Fungi Base in Huchuan Town.

It is reported that the Edible Fungi Base in Huchuan Town started the trial cultivation of morel mushrooms in 2022. After continuous exploration and development, 15 industrial greenhouses for morel mushrooms have been built so far. Among them, 6 have been put into production, and the remaining 9 are expected to be operational in April this year. These industrial greenhouses are equipped with advanced fully automated control systems, which can precisely regulate environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, light, and ventilation inside the greenhouses. With the help of the intelligent monitoring system, technicians can keep track of various environmental data in real time, ensuring that morel mushrooms always grow in the optimal environment.
Through the innovative industrial cultivation model, the cultivation cycle of morel mushrooms can be shortened from the traditional 120-180 days to 80-100 days, and continuous production throughout the year can be achieved. This breaks the bottleneck of seasonal limitations in traditional cultivation and can meet the market demand for fresh morel mushrooms all year round.
Compared with traditional cultivation methods, the industrial technology not only increases the yield of morel mushrooms but also improves their quality. The annual output of a single industrial greenhouse for morel mushrooms can reach 1,500 kilograms, with an output value of 600,000 yuan. The annual output of 15 industrial greenhouses can reach 22,500 kilograms, with an annual output value of 9 million yuan. The base also has 22 ordinary winter-warm greenhouses for morel mushrooms, with an annual output value of 100,000 yuan per greenhouse, and the total annual output value can reach 2.2 million yuan.
In terms of sales, Huchuan Town is actively exploring diversified sales channels. On the one hand, it has established stable cooperative relationships with traditional agricultural product distributors, directly supplying freshly picked morel mushrooms to major markets and restaurants. On the other hand, it has actively embraced e-commerce platforms to expand the sales radius. By selling dried morel mushrooms both online and offline, so far, more than 400 kilograms have been sold through e-commerce platforms.
To extend the industrial chain, build a morel mushroom brand, and increase the added value of products, the base has introduced Longhui Agricultural Company and built supporting facilities such as an edible fungi strain production line, a cold storage, a drying workshop, an online live-streaming room for product promotion, and a product display area, promoting the integrated development of the morel mushroom industry.
